The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the CureTM 3 Day is a 60-mile walk for women and men who want to make a personal difference in the fight to end breast cancer. Net proceeds fund innovative global breast cancer research and local community programs supporting education, screening and treatment.

ü  The 2009 Komen 3-Day for the Cure Series took place in 15 cities nationwide and raised more than $91 million.

ü  Since its inception in 2003, the 3-Day for the Cure has raised nearly $500 million.

ü  Since 1982, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has invested nearly $1.5 billion in breast cancer research and community programs and promises to invest another $1 billion by 2017.

ü  Of every dollar spent, 84 cents goes toward mission (research, education, screening, treatment); the remaining 16 cents goes toward administrative and fundraising costs.

ü  In fiscal year 2009, Komen made grants to more than 1,900 community organizations totaling more than $93 million. Those dollars funded grants allowing:

ü  More than 3.9 million people to receive breast cancer education materials and information

ü  More than 260,000 women to receive a potentially life-saving mammogram

ü  Approximately 5,000 people to be diagnosed with breast cancer who otherwise may not have been diagnosed

ü  More than 100,000 women to benefit from psychosocial services and treatment assistance

The Pink Totties have all made a commitment to walk the full 60 miles and raise a minimum of $2,300 each, with 11 of us on the team that’s an amazing $25,300.00. 100% of your donations are donated to the 3 Day.  The Pink Totties hold 2 major events each year to raise funds; The Cancer Firkin Sucks 5k and Wine Tasting for the Cure.  Net proceeds from our 5k and wine night are given to the 3 Day.  The Pink Totties also print and sell t-shirts and tank tops, proceeds from the sales go to the Pink Totties.
